Thomas Singer is known throughout the world for his jewelry work. His

Overlay is created
by "sweating" or soldering two pieces of silver together.
The top piece contains a design element which is meticulously hand cut
out of silver. The bottom piece is oxidized and often textured with
stamping to produce a contrasting background. Once together the work
is carefully filed, buffed, and polished to produce this fine finish.
The Sleeping Beauty mine is located near Globe, Arizona. Its turquoise
is noted for its solid, light blue color with no matrix. Sleeping Beauty
turquoise is the favorite of the Zuni Pueblo silversmiths for use in
petite point, needlepoint, and inlay jewelry. This mine is one of the
largest in North America and is still operating.
